Camino Real

Camino Real

By Tennessee Williams, Directed by Julane Havens. Produced by Walden Theatre in Louisville, Ky. Photos by Harlan Taylor.

In our production of Tennessee Williams' Camino Real, my lighting design was based in clear interaction with the student performers. For example, when the fugitivo arrived, the stage manager pointed her lamp in the faces of the gathering crowd as if it were the headlights of the airplane. Lighting was also embedded throughout the space in hanging practicals, rope light laced through the set, and in the floodlight illuminating terra incognita from below.
